Meeting Minutes- September 13, 2022

Attending:  Christen Amenta, Emily Anderson, Jenny Capizzi, Caitlyn Carolan, Kelly Delaney, Cara Lyons, Bryan Mabie, Jen Mathney, Corrie Torres & Shannon Wall


I.  Approval of Minutes

  • May 24th minutes approved

II.  Annual Appeal

  • Envelope to go home with students on Giving Tuesday
  • Ensure we are promoting matching donations from employers

III.  Playground Committee

  • In need of 6-10 parents to research pricing, design and vendor options for either a new playground or to add on to existing structure
  • Ways to recruit parents for this committee:
    • Email directly from Mr. Mabie
    • Curriculum night
    • Town FB page
    • PTO FB page

IV.   Directory

  • Create flyer with QR code to encourage more parents to sign up
  • Post QR code at curriculum night
  • Coordinate with teachers to have families opt-in to the school directory when signing up for the class directory
  • Extend deadline for one more week

V.  Family Dinner Dance

  • Volunteers needed to donate water bottles/snacks – will send link to people who bought tickets through Give Butter
  • Will allow sales at the door
  • Will start promoting in morning announcements – send blurb to Mr. Mabie

VI.  Social Media

  • Need to look at ways to make PTO FB page more engaging

VII.  Website

  • Shannon has created a first draft of the website
  • Goal is to have a centralized spot for information

VIII.  Enrichment

  • Due to low enrollment numbers, printed flyers to go out in students’ folders in addition to posting online

IX.  Treasurer’s Report

  • Projected to have a small positive cash income for 22/23
  • Currently have ~ $3900 cash on hand
  • Upcoming expenses to be paid include Ecotarium and Scholastic subscriptions

X.  Family Dinner Nights

  • First family dinner night of the year to be at Volturno’s on 10/6
  • Will start switching the day of the week that family dinner nights are held to ensure as many families as possible can participate

XI.  Fun Run

  • Will have Boosterthon on-site for the day of the event, but not in the school leading up to it
  • This year there will be School Goals and everyone will get a prize when the school collectively hits those goals

XII.  Calendar

  • Shannon to reach out to art teacher to discuss a calendar featuring students’ artwork
