Classroom FAQ

Supply Lists

The school has standardized the list by grade. You can view the list on the school’s website by clicking here.

Room Parent(s)

At the beginning of the year teachers will ask for someone to volunteer as the room parent. This is a great opportunity for a parent to get involved in the school and help the teacher coordinate extra activities like classroom parties. The room parent will also connect with all parents in the class to make them aware of volunteer opportunities, class gifts, etc.

Spring Street School Directory

Each year the PTO puts out a school directory for families to connect outside of school for play dates, parties, etc. You have the option of not having your information shared or limiting the information provided. If you choose to be included it’s a great way to connect with other families or be included in parent planning for teacher gifts, etc.

Enrichment

Subscriptions

Each year money raised by the PTO covers subscriptions for various programs to provide additional educational vehicles that assist in making learning fun and interesting, including Scholastic Magazine, Super Teacher Worksheets for the Special Education department, BrainPOP for grade 2, and Reading A-Z.

Events

There are many events the PTO runs throughout the year that gives families an opportunity to have fun with others in the Spring Street School community. Some of the biggest events are the Family Dinner Dance in September and the Fun Fair in May. Check out our full event programing by clicking here as well as our calendar by clicking here.

After School Enrichment

The PTO provides a number of After School Enrichment programs during the fall, winter, and spring sessions. We provide programing that gives families options for additional educational or extracurricular programs such as language programs, chess club, and more. Check out our most up to date offerings by clicking here.
